THE PERILS OF BEING A BLOGGER

since i started my blog one year ago, (wow, has it really been that long?!) i have entered a whole other world that i never knew existed. it is weird to even call myself a 'blogger,' although i guess i am one? for the most part, i really enjoy blogging. at first it was simply a means to further my business, but now i really enjoy sharing my latest obsessions and interests. however...there are those other times.

sometimes i feel like i am so busy writing posts like 'lovely gardens' or 'clothes that i love' that i don't have enough time to actually start my own garden or sew my own clothes. does that make sense? the fact that i am even doing this post is ironic in itself:)

i want this blog to be a positive place, but if i can't vent on my own blog, where else i am going to? instead of being glued to my computer and/or iphone, i want to start doing the very things i talk about on this blog, and not have to worry about bringing my camera! that being said, my posts might be a little thin sometimes, but i do appreciate all of you reading anyway! now let's go out and live life!

THIS WEEK...

this week was busy busy busy. i feel like either my weeks are either one way or the other--not a lot going on, or everything going on all at once.

this monday my best friend lindsey had her baby boy, tovin! i had the chance to visit them in the hospital, but i am looking forward to seeing them both at home. how weird and wonderful is it to watch your college friends, whom you went through late nights and bad boyfriends with, now become mothers? wow.

wednesday the woman i babysit for, jessica, also had her baby--so cute. i am looking forward to spending time with that little one. thursday we had a rehearsal dinner, friday we went to the wedding. saturday our friends had their wedding reception, and sunday was church...whoosh!

this week i...
*wore a sleeveless shirt for the first time this spring. our weather has been amazing.
*ate three boxes of birthday cake oreos with lucas--lifechanging.
*started watching downtown abby. i like it, but i am not hooked...yet.
*rearranged our bedroom. what's new?
*babysat for 14 hours straight. it was a long day.

In my shop you can find plenty of headbands and knitted bags. All headbands are handmade by me and all knitted bags are made by my mother (unfortunately I'm not that talented). All designs are completely one of a kind because they are made with love for unique and special people. If you fall in love with a design, I do suggest purchasing sooner rather than later, items are often sold out before people get a chance!

I create all of my things in my in-home studio which is located 30 minutes away from Big Ben.

TIME FOR REST

 you know those vacations where you come back exhausted? well, i feel like i just had one of those. except i didn't actually go anywhere.

this past week my mom and my ten-year old niece came to stay with lucas and i during their spring break. it was such a blessing seeing them and being able to spend time together. but let me tell you, it really did a number on me.

most of our days were jam packed, and between that and work, i was soooo tired. i am taking the next few days to catch up on laundry, check things off my to-do list, and get some rest!

ALL ABOUT ACCESSORIES

when it comes to accessories i definitely have a less is more kind of attitude. and even though i love love love earrings, necklaces, hats, scarves, purses, fill in the blank, i rarely actually wear them! crazy, i know.

i am also of the opinion that the right bag or necklace can make an outfit. here are some pieces that i absolutely adore.

PANDEMONIUM!

i can't believe there was a vintage store in dallas that i had not yet visited...until now:) pandemonium was packed head to toe with all things vintage--clothes, posters, housewares, you name it. lucas and i had a blast looking through everything--each little item was like a little piece of history.

i found the cutest hat there, but i used what little self-control i have and put it back on the rack. and those glasses! i just couldn't justify buying them, but they were so awesome! if you would like to find out more about pandemonium, visit their website or facebook page.

I LOVE COLOR: PRETTY DRESS + SPRING BREAK

this dress is just lovely, and the colors are oh so pretty. i love the nude brown and muted pink, offset by a bright coral and touch of gold. what colors are you loving right now?

today my mom and ten-year old niece came to visit for spring break. i don't think kids realize how lucky they are to get 3 months out of the year 'off' or that their parents still have to work during spring break. oh to be young again!

since it was so nice out we took banjo to the dog park, and then i cooked dinner. tomorrow we will either be going to 'jump street' or 'going bonkers.' i think those names speak for themselves-- by the end of the day i'm going to be sufficiently worn out, but worn out in the best possible way:) how are you spending this spring break?

THIS WEEK...

the past few days have been cold, rainy and gross, but i don't even care because this sunday was DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! just in case my capital letters didn't get across my excitement, i will go ahead and let you know that i am so psyched because the days are getting longer, which means more sun!

there is so much to look forward to in these next few months--selling my clothes at different markets, our vacation to marfa, warm weather, and moving! i remember a few months back feeling like it would be forever until we would move, but now i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. even though our move is still 3 months away, i still loving getting online and looking at houses:)

this week i...
*tried out the 'sock bun.' it worked out better than i thought!
*spent the rest of my Christmas money:)
*set a record of a 4 foot high pile of laundry
*finally watched drive--loved it
*hung out with one of my best friends who has moved back to texas from nashville:)
*got in the mood to craft and painted some decor for our apartment

have you ever heard of the website bookshelf porn? if not, it's pretty much the coolest thing ever. if you like books as much as i do, you will love this site. you can scroll through dozens of pictures of the most interesting/unique/amazing bookshelves you never knew existed.
